GRM's experienced professionals
in photogrammetry make Digital Elevation Model (DEM)
and Digital Terrain Model (DTM) easily accessible
for customers seeking three-dimensional data. The
DEM/DTM provides a framework of accurately mapped
points for analysis of elevation changes and modeling
of ‘z’ data. The DEM/DTM elevation data
is used for contour development, terrain modeling
and analysis.
A DEM is a series of elevation points usually collected
on a grid system. A DTM is collected using a much
more extensive layout including masspoints and a series
of sharp, hard and soft breaklines, which are collected
along all changes in elevation such as top and bottoms
of hills, streams, ditches, and embankments. The DTM
is much more accurate and should be used to generate
contours.
GRM’s professionals determine the best approach
for developing either elevation and/or terrain data.
When we develop DEMs and DTMs, you will always be
assured that the most accurate techniques, advanced
equipment and skilled professionals are working for
you.
